As LEGO NINJAGO approaches its 10th anniversary, it’s important to remember the minifigures and characters that brought this theme to where it is today, including the Elemental Masters that inhabit NINJAGO.

LEGO NINJAGO’s 10-year history has seen many characters and miniaturefigures, but none as popular as the Elemental Masters. It can be difficult for some to remember how many have appeared over time.

Not to worry, as Brick Fanatics is delving deep into NINJAGO’s history to find every instance of an Elemental Master, and which sets they can be found in. From the core cast to the most niche character, here’s every instance of a LEGO NINJAGO Elemental Master minifigure.

This list will contain spoilers for characters from LEGO NINJAGO’s various seasons..

Creation and destruction

NINJAGO’s primary elements are creation and destruction. They are important even though they are not elements.

The ability to create life from nothing is called creation. It has been used by a few characters on the show, but it is now fairly common.

Lord Garmadon and Sensei WU have both used this power to do good and harm. They are direct descendants of the First Spinjitzu Master, who created the NINJAGO universe.

Both Sensei Wu and Garmadon have appeared in a great many sets over the years and can currently be found in 71718 Wu’s Battle Dragon and 71701 Kai’s Fire Dragon, which both contain a dragon, a creature in NINJAGO that is also able to use the power of creation.

On the other hand, destruction is more common among characters than among minifigures. Destruction is the opposite of creation. It destroys everything that has been built and takes away all that is living.

This power has been used in a number of characters, including Garmadon, Oni the villain and Mystake the tea-shop owner. The minifigures do not include Garmadon. Mystake was featured on 70657 NINJAGO City Docks and the Oni in 853866 Oni Villains combat Pack.

Energy, darkness, or golden power?

These three powers, only one of which is an element, were never used by more than two characters. Lloyd Garmadon is the Overlord and the green Ninja.

Both darkness and gold power are the ultimate powers that can either lighten or darken the show and have only been used a few times. They have never been used either by The Overlord, nor the green Ninja. Energy is Lloyd Garmadon’s elemental power and the most powerful elemental ability.

Both of these characters are also featured in the 2021 NINJAGO legacy set 71742 Overlord Dragon. This set recreates an epic battle between darkness and light. Check out our review.

Fire, water, earth, lightning, ice

These elements are possessed primarily by the Japanese ninja, who is the most commonly seen minifigure in this theme. These powers are held Nya, Cole Jay Jay, Jay Jay, Jay and Jay, who have all been in far too many sets.

All of these characters can be found together in one set, with their mobile headquarters or home away. 71705 Destiny’s Bounty depicts a vehicle that has become a frequent set over NINJAGO’s lifespan and is the only currently available set to include all six ninjas, including a much younger Lloyd Garmadon.

Amber, smoke, shadow

Amber is one of the more interesting elemental abilities. The user can touch to copy any element. Although only one character has used it, their minifigure has been seen three times in sets. Skylor first appeared in 70746 Condrai Copter Attack. Later, she was spotted in a new suit and 853687 Accessory Set. Skylor recently appeared in 70651 Throne Room Showdown.

Shadow makes it impossible for users to see when they are hidden behind shadows, completely blending them together. Smoke transforms the user’s body into smoke, becoming intangible and unstoppable for a time. Shade and Ash have used both these powers to help the NINJAGO. They were with Skylor during the 853687 Accessory Package.

Speed and metal

The Elemental power of metal makes them truly immovable. They are transformed into a shiny metallic form, which transforms them into a powerful and long-lasting being. Karlof is one of the few to possess this power.

Speed allows the wielder to move quickly and dodge almost all attacks. This power belongs to Griffin Turner, and both his and Karlof’s minifigures remain exclusive to 70756 Dojo Showdown

Mind and Time

The Elemental Master of mind has the power to read other’s thoughts and predict their movements. They can also distract them by using a sharp headache. This makes it quite strategic. This power was first seen in the 5004938 Bricktober Minifigure Pack. He was seen with the master of Fire, and one of the masters at time.

The most powerful ability in NINJAGO’s world is time. It has four main functions. It can be used to speed up, slow down, rewind, or stop time. There were two masters of time, who existed simultaneously. Acronix and Krux appeared as the main villains of 70626 Dawn of Iron Doom.

Another elemental master winds is another one that used their power to gain selfish ends, becoming a villain in NINJAGO. Morro was the villain in the 2015 Possession Wave. He took on a ghostly form to enslave Lloyd because he was jealous of Lloyd’s selection as the green Ninja. Set 70743 and 70738 also included Morro.

Poisonous and dangerous light

Because their minifigures are directly derived from LEGO Ultra Agents LEGO Elemental Masters are much more interesting to design. The names of the NINJAGO characters were Tox, Paleman, and Paleman. However, their Ultra Agents counterparts also appeared around that time.

Toxikita appeared in both waves of Ultra Agents in 70163 Toxikita’s Toxic Meltdown and 70169 Agent Stealth Patrol. Her design features a tank top and spike collar with green marks on the skin. Invizable was a star of 70167 Invizable gold escape, where she had powers such as invisibility.

The NINJAGO characters are the same in both ability and design to that of the Ultra Agents villains, and their minifigures have only appeared in that theme’s sets so far. Both characters have been a part the show’s newer seasons, even after their Ultra Agents debut.

Nature, gravity and sound

There are only four Elemental masters left. Three of them will be appearing in a new set in 2021. Brick Fanatics recently reviewed 71735 Tournament of Elements. It will be available alongside the new LEGO NINJAGO range on January 1. This new model comes with three minifigures, which are necessary to complete the Elemental Masters.

Gravis is the master and ruler over gravity. He has the ability to control all natural forces around him. Gravis’s ability to control the natural forces around him can enable him to fly and lift other objects, or people, by changing their gravity or inverting them. Jacob is a master at sound and uses his sitar to produce sound waves to echolocate potential dangers.

The element of nature gives the user the power to manipulate plant life, speed up growth, and trap enemies. Bolobo, the master of this power, completes the set. His minifigure appearance, which is bare-chested is unique to the show, is also unique. It gives the character a natural appearance.

Form is the last element of the NINJAGO universe. This allows the master to change their appearance and voice whenever they want. Chamille, the master form creator is not yet featured in any LEGO sets.

The LEGO Group has one remaining character, so hopefully they can complete this five-year-long series. Chamille was the last person to mention that she had been to hell. This could be a sign of a future on the side the villains but we can only hope it’s at least a minifigure.
