Neil Widener, Gavin James are the scriptwriters
Deadline Entertainment News website announced Thursday that Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean National Treasure, Top Gun, Top Gun) has teamed up with Paramount to produce a live-action movie about Takara Tomy’s Beyblade series.
Neil Widener and Gavin James are currently writing the script.
Takara Tomy launched the original game franchise in 1999. Toshifumi Kasese directed the first 51-episode Beyblade anime series. It was first broadcast in Japan in January 2001. The English version was released in July 2002.
The Japanese first Beyblade Burst animated series was released in April 2016. This was followed by Beyblade Burst God, and Beyblade Burst Evolution. “second season” in April 2017, and then Beyblade Burst Chōzetsu in April 2018. Beyblade Burst aired on Disney XD for two weeks in December 2016. Daisuki started streaming the series in December 2016 with English subtitles. English-dubbed episodes can be found digitally via Disney XD’s digital platforms and the Beyblade Burst YouTube channel.
In April 2019, the anime Beyblade Burst Rise (Beyblade Burst GT) debuted in Japan. It was also available on the Coro Coro Comics YouTube channel and on the Takara Tomy Channel streaming website. In February 2020, Disney XD aired the English dub in the United States.
Beyblade Burst Super King (also known as Beyblade Burst sparking) premiered on the CoroCoro Channel (both YouTube) in April 2020. The show first aired on Disney XD in 2021, starting in February.
The Beyblade Burst QuadDrive (Beyblade Burst Dynamite Battle), premiered in Japan in April 2021. The show aired from December 2021 on DisneyXD, DisneyNOW and DisneyNOW.
